Calgary 2 - staple problems in staples 2007

Rob Decided that stapling his hand would be funny, however he didn't know that it was a very powerful stapler.

He played the rest of the tour after having his thumb get sliced and stitched up good (only after we played a few hours after that video) to remove the staple end from his bone and tendon in his thumb. That's Rock and Roll.

An old video from the Cross-Canada 2006 tour featuring Rob picking on Scott as usual (proven in the pictures from the 2005 tour where the rivalry started) Get that guy!

Craik, SK

After two crappy shows the day before in Thunder Bay and then Winnipeg, Craik was where we found our grove and got into tour mode. People actually danced to our music... every song. The headliners were The Weakerthans, but the crowd favourite act of the festival had to have been some really high guy with an acoustic guitar who played about 10 half songs because he was too disoriented to play them all the way through and also told the crowd to close their eyes and they would see rainbows to the music among many other ridiculous things. That wasn't the weirdest part of the festival, cuz after hours was field rave time. We danced for people, they seemed to like it... don't know if they knew we were sort of mocking them. Either way, it was fun times for all.

Changes in AVSland

Well, it's been an amazing run, but after over 5 years in the band, 3 albums and 3 major national tours, Scott Mackay has left to pursue career opportunities in Vancouver. It was a privilege to share the stage with scott, who has been playing guitar with me since we both started in grade 8/9. No one will ever forget the way he rocked out on stage. I'm sure that we will have a chance to play with him again in the future, whether it be with avs or a new project. We wish him all the best in Vancouver . He will be replaced, at least temporarily by Jordan Popowich, who will start learning the songs as soon as school stops killing me. Soon we'll have a new jamspace and will be able to rehearse and continue challenging ourselves to make better music. If you haven't heard the new album, its probably because we did such a bad job making it available, but we promise that it will be easily available and we will start play shows again regularly in the new year. Thanks to everyone new and old who continues to support us and to Scott Mackay.

Love: colin
